Coffee owner fed up with rude customers, sets up brilliant sign to teach them lesson and it’s going viral

A worker at a coffee shop was so fed up by the customers’ rude manners that he decided to place a board in front of the CUPS Coffee and Tea just as a subtle reminder for them to be more polite when ordering their coffee. It seems like less and less people nowadays use words such as please, and thank you, and that speaks volumes of how we become more and more estranged from one another.

The board reads:

“One small coffee”
“One small coffee, please”
“Hello, I’d like one small coffee please.”

When they realize their coffee will cost less whenever they are kind and politely ask for it, they will start behaving nicely most of the time.

When we enter a coffee place and order our morning shot, we are sometimes still sleepy and not willing to start the day so early that we forget there is a human being behind the counter who also had to be at their job pretty early, so we have to treat them with respect. That’s how we can make the world a better place for everyone.

Austin, the barista behind this unique idea told WDBJ7: “I decided, because I need to solve all the injustices of the world, to start charging more for people who didn’t take the time to say hello and connect and realize we’re all people behind the counter.”

His sign gathered the attention not only from the people who passed by it, but also from the Internet users. The story of it first appeared in a newspaper and then vent viral online. Many came to have their coffee at Austin’s shop just so see the board sign.

Below are some of the comments people wrote on Facebook praising Austin’s genuine idea.
